In with the new… Thinking about the past
I took these in April of 2009. They were in the final stages of finishing the bridge that has since replaced the old swing bridge over the intercoastal water way in Matagorda TX. My good friend, CL Cook had taken me fishing in his boat as he had done many times before, when we made our way to the new bridge construction. There was more to this day than just fishing or stopping to take a few photos of a new bridge. Little did I know, It was one of the last times we would spend an evening out in his boat. I lost my friend to cancer in 2011, and although I do spend time here while working in the area, it hasn’t been the same.
I suppose things are ever changing… New bridges are built and old ones are taken down. You can enlarge the photos by clicking on them.

Gosh, it doesn’t seem like it’s been almost 3 years since you and CL took this outing. I’m glad you have a nice memory attached to these pictures, but am so sorry you lost such a good friend far too young in his life.
