Summer time blues

IT IS HOT!!!
It’s so hot that I saw two trees fighting over a dog!
It’s so hot, the squirrels are handling their nuts with potholders!
It’s so hot that I can use my seat belt buckle as a branding iron!
It’s so hot that hot water now comes out of both taps.

Well.. You get the picture. It’s been really hot lately. Not just here in west Texas where we are basically used to it but it’s been crazy hot all over the central and southern US. Ugh!!

There’s a place we like to go in the fall, when the temps have let up and the days start to shorten. We rent a cabin on the frio river and spend 3 to 4 days enjoying the time away from the “rat race”. It a good place to get your sanity back after a hot awful summer. And that’s what I happen to be thinking about today as I watch the tempature climb. 99… 100.. 101.. 102.. 103.. 104.. Oh shit!
